A Landscape of Past and Present

The natural landscape around the Han River in western Seoul has long been appreciated for its beauty.
During the Joseon Dynasty, the renowned painter Jeong Seon (Gyeomjae) depicted real Korean scenery through his ‘true-view landscape’ paintings, capturing areas along the Han River that include what is now the western part of Seoul.
